Before joining the Nevada Museum of Art as Director of Communications in November 2013, Amanda served as Account Director for The Abbi Agency, a nationally-recognized public relations firm. Other noteworthy experience includes co-founding a traveling performance art troupe in the 90’s, which she managed and promoted; and leading numerous guerilla marketing and brand campaigns in the San Francisco Bay Area. A trained journalist, Amanda is also an award-winning writer. In 2016, she spearheaded the media relations and marketing strategy for Ugo Rondinone’s now iconic desert installation, Seven Magic Mountains, garnering $25 million in earned media publicity value to date. She has led two successful Kickstarter campaigns for the Museum. The most recent, Trevor Paglen: Orbital Reflector, raised more than $76,000 and earned global media attention, reaching almost 1 billion online news visitors. In addition to leading the communications initiatives for these and other global projects, Amanda has taken an active role in managing their production, operations, and public engagement.
